Dear Rattler Family,
As we enter into a new chapter year, I am excited about all of our achievements. The NOVA chapter had the pleasure of hosting the 2013 North East Regional Conference in Alexandria, VA. It was a major deal for us considering that we were chartered in 2009. We also had the opportunity to host the Norfolk State Tailgate in which was a highly successful event. We were able to assist in the reclamation of several Rattlers in the Hampton Roads area. Without your support, these events may not have been possible. As a chapter we continue to grow, expand and become better. We continue our goal to help students attend FAMU, support FAMU and help our fellow Rattlers in the Northern Virginia area. Below are just a few of the accomplishments and goals of our chapter.
College Fairs – Our chapter will attend local college and recruitment fairs in the Northern Virginia area. We will continue to inform the students in Northern Virginia about our illustrious FAMU.
Community Service – We have started to be more active to help the community that we live in through community service. We will participate in at least three to four community service events this year.
Fundraising – With great teamwork we will continue to have our annual
Spring Strike Fundraiser. We will launch a new annual fundraiser in the fall of 2016.
Mixers/ Socials – With consistency and strength, NOVA Rattlers and friends come together to talk, drink, eat and network. We would like to have two to three social events per year.
I welcome each of you to recommit and join the NOVA FAMU Alumni chapter and become a financial member for only $85 or $35 if you are a life member. Join before March 15, and receive a free tee- shirt! Help us to help ourselves and FAMU.
